Calgary, AB – October 12, 2023 – The Hispanic Arts Society and the Mexican restaurant, Fonda Fora, announce an enchanting Día de Muertos celebration, a free family-event, and a vibrant tribute to Mexican culture. This event promises to be a sensorial feast, immersing attendees in a world of flavors, music, storytelling, and art.

Sensorial Highlights:

Culinary Delights: Explore the depths of Mexican cuisine at our food and beverage stations. Savor Tacos, indulge in Mole tastings, warm your soul with Atole, and delight in Pan de Muerto. And, of course, we have Jarritos, and Margaritas to raise your spirits!

Mariachi Internacional Sol Azteca: Let the heartwarming melodies of Mariachi music transport you to the heart of Mexico.

Musical Storytelling with Mera Reyes: Engage with our Mexican master storyteller and her musicians as they unravel the rich traditions and symbolism of Día de Muertos. 

Behold the Altar de Muertos: this magnificent centerpiece of our celebration will be built by Mexican visual artists.

Day-of-the-Dead-Themed Art Exhibition: Immerse yourself in a world of creativity as we showcase captivating artwork inspired by Día de Muertos.

It is optional, but if you are in the mood, don’t forget to bring your sugar face makeup – a delightful tradition. Our photographers will be taking courtesy photos you can download from our website. Let’s make this Mexican celebration a memorable one. Entry to the beautiful Fonda Fora restaurant is free, and tickets for food and drinks can be conveniently purchased at the restaurant for just $6 each.
